DESCRIPTION:Fabulous opportunity to join the co-author of the excellent new Pocket Guide book “British & Irish Wildflowers & Plants”\, Dr Chris Gibson on a plant hunt at Lower Lodge\, Colne Local Nature Reserve\, Wivenhoe\, Essex. Chris is a knowledgeable & enthusiastic naturalist\, & recipient of the David Bellamy Award of the British Naturalists’ Association as a “naturalist of distinction”. \nMeet at 10.00am\, finish at 12.00 noon. \nDr Chris Gibson FBNA\nOver the 2 hours Chris & his partner Jude plan to cover just a slow stroll of 600 metres as there is so much to see on this grass and scrub-land site which is rich in wildflowers and insects. \nLower Lodge was farmland up until the 1980s\, and it is managed by sections cut every 3 years\, plus paths cut. It has great views over the Colne valley.
