Essential to book by email to BNA Essex (essex@bna-naturalists.org) and receive confirmation as we need to know who is coming for the boat. Spaces limited.
Saturday 13th August 2022
Arrive & park for 12 noon at Pioneer Sailing Trust, Harkers Yard, Shipyard Estate, Copperas Road, Brightlingsea Essex CO7 0AR.
Park inside Harkers Yard. We will first explore features relating to estuary wildlife and oysters on land, then you will be provided with a lifejacket before going aboard TRINITY. She is a restored Trinity House launch. Please ensure you are appropriately dressed for going aboard, have a jacket or jumper with you, a waterproof if the weather warrants, a hat & sunglasses. Please do not wear stiletto heels as it is a wooden boat. Please bring your own bottle of water & picnic/refreshments plus binoculars & hand lens if you have them.
We will be looking at marine wildlife and oysters, the islands, saltmarsh & mudflat habitats around the estuary. One and a half to 2 hours on TRINITY. (There are wc facilities in the Trust building).
