BNA Essex’s Christmas “Tree” at Brightlingsea Christmas Tree Festival Sat/Sun 13th & 14th December 2025
December 13, 2025 @ 10:00 am - December 14, 2025 @ 6:00 pm
Our BNA Essex Branch Christmas “Tree” will be in the historic Grade I listed All Saints church, Brightlingsea, (which has facilities including WC). BNA Essex has entered a “tree” in Brightlingsea’s Christmas Tree Festival for a number of years, always with a wildlife theme, and never with a standard tree, but ones constructed from loppings or trimmings etc. No two years have been the same in design. Previous ones have included a a holly bush, historic Kissing Bough, leaning logs etc! The event will be open for Saturday & Sunday 13th & 14th December, do look in its a spectacle with many & inventive trees (& vote for ours!). [Open times: Sat 13th, 10am-6pm; Sun 15th, 10am-6pm). BNA Essex members set up the “tree” on Thursday 11th.
This year’s “Wooden Tree”, we have made a ‘minimalist’ core of the tree from a wooden re-use pallet. It is a variant of last year’s ex-pallet tree which we thought we should after this year’s recent Brazil COP meeting which didn’t come to agreement on reducing fossil fuel use, so we could stress the need for recycling & non-fossil fuel use to support wildlife survival. (It will remain unpainted so the wood can subsequently have a yet further incarnation).
